About Astro Lighting

Astro began in 1997 with one customer and six products. Founders John Fearon and James Bassant set out to make lighting with a distinctive quality, and that obsession with detail still defines the brand today: refining the small elements other manufacturers overlook, and choosing the best possible processes so every fitting is built to last.

Every Astro design starts life as a sketch, then is pared back until only the essential form remains. The result is lighting that feels contemporary now and still looks right years later – simple shapes, honest materials such as cast brass, solid bronze and concrete, and finishes chosen to age well.

Astro is especially strong where lighting has to work hard. Its bathroom collections are rated IP44 and above for use near water, its coastal range is built to stand up to salt air, and its architectural line covers fire-rated downlights, adjustable spotlights and a full 48V track system. Alongside the technical pieces sit decorative wall lights, pendants, table and floor lamps for living spaces and bedrooms.

Astro Lighting FAQs

Which Astro lights can I use in a bathroom?

Choose a fitting rated IP44 or higher – the minimum for bathroom zones 1 and 2. Each product’s IP rating is shown on its product page, and our team can confirm which zone a fitting suits before you order.

Is Astro lighting suitable for coastal homes?

Yes. Astro’s coastal range uses materials and finishes designed to resist salt air and harsh weather, making them a good choice for seaside and exposed locations.

Are bulbs included with Astro lights?

It depends on the fitting. Integrated LED models come with the light source built in; others take a standard lamp such as GU10 or E27. Each product page shows exactly what is included.

How quickly will my Astro order arrive?

In-stock Astro products: 7-10 Working Days Delivery. See our Shipping Policy for delivery times to your area.
